Cupressus × leylandii
Leyland cypress was the go-to privacy screen in Georgia for decades. Fast growing, evergreen, cheap, and planted in a straight line along a back fence. You will see them on nearly every street in Woodstock that was developed after about 1990.
The problem is that they are planted far too close together and they are vulnerable to seiridium canker and bot canker, both of which spread readily between touching trees. That is why they rarely die one at a time. A homeowner loses two, then four, then the whole run over a couple of seasons.
So the stump job is almost never a single stump. It is six or eight or twelve in a line, which is the best case for pricing, because the crew pays the drive and setup once and the per-stump rate drops sharply after the first.
The stumps themselves are easy. Leylands are shallow rooted, which is also why they blow over in storms, and the wood is soft. The thing to check is the fence: they are usually planted tight against one, and access along a fence line is what determines whether the crew can bring a machine down the row or has to work each one from the side.
If you are replacing the screen, ask for deeper grinding than standard. Planting a new row into a line of old root masses is the one situation where people regret taking the cheaper grind.

I want to replant the screen. Do the stumps have to come out?
If the new row is going in the same line, yes. The old root masses are physically in the way, and the canker that killed them persists in the debris. Grinding them out and taking the material off site is the safer order, or shift the new line a few feet.
Can I plant grass or a new tree where the stump was?
Grass, yes. Fill the void with topsoil rather than the chips, since decomposing wood robs nitrogen from new grass. Planting a new tree in the same hole needs full removal rather than grinding, because the old root mass is still in the way.
How long does it take?
A single accessible stump is usually thirty to sixty minutes on site. The scheduling window is longer than the job, which is why crews prefer to do several stumps in one trip.
Is this the cheapest option?
Renting a grinder yourself is cheaper on paper and routinely goes wrong. The machines are heavy, they throw debris, and the day rate plus the trailer usually lands within range of just hiring a crew for one stump. For two or more, hiring wins outright.
